How to make homemade dog biscuits

Sharing is caring!

Our cuddly canines (both real and knitted) love our homemade dog biscuits packed with oats, carrots and apples-they make the perfect puppy snack!

We don’t know about your pups but ours are always hungry and looking for a snack. Whilst pet shops, supermarkets and discount stores have a wide range of products sometimes you just want to know they are having something simple. Much like our own processed food dog snacks can have literally a paragraph of ingredients.

Dogs are omnivores so carbohydrates and plants are an important part of their diets. It’s important that they have a balanced diet with everything they need. This can be from complete dog foods. So when it comes to snacks something low cal like veggies make a great option for those peckish in between meal times.

How to make homemade dog biscuits

Mix two dog safe fruit or veg (we used one medium carrot and an apple-both grated) with oats (a little more than you have veg/fruit) and enough water to make it stick.

Then squish handfuls into disks on a baking tray. To ensure a good bake palm size or smaller works best. Then pop into a oven to bake or basically dry out.

Ours took about 15mins till the room was smelling like fruity porridge!

Leave to cool and place in an airtight container or freeze!

The homemade dog biscuits should last for a couple of days. If they don’t all get quickly snapped up

Simple, healthy, doggy heaven!
