Top tips for caring for painted canvas shoes

Caring for custom canvas shoes is important to help the art last as long as possible.

Your shoes have been lovingly painted with acrylic paint and sealed. This makes them water-resistant and ‘splash proof’ but not ‘waterproof’

So avoid

• washing them in the washing machine
• wearing them in heavy rainfall and wet conditions
• wearing them whilst strenuously exercising

Caring for custom canvas shoes

• clean the soles carefully to avoid mud transferring to the canvas-this can be done with soapy water and a toothbrush
• store out of direct sunlight
• store in a shoe box, or similar, alone
• store in areas of low humidity
• make sure shoes are dry when stored

But be aware that in time paint will inevitably show signs of wear
