Knitted Cuties
Knitted animals inspired by our life in Cornwall
Carol has created a range of miniature knitted animals inspired by our life on Bodmin Moor.
Cute crafts and projects have made a resurgence in recent years and toys are not just for children anymore. From a quick scroll on Pinterest or Instagram the obsession with all things cute is clear to see.
Apart from them being cute to look at, soft toys are also proven to be calming and ease loneliness. In case you need even more reasons to love them here’s seven.
Bodmin Moor
Whilst living on Bodmin Moor we found the cows, ponies and sheep with all lived free roaming around us both adorable and inspirational!
We lived in the village of Minions. The highest in Cornwall. Whilst here we ran a shop, tearoom and started our creative business.
All around the village was fenceless access to moorland, as far as the eye could see. A lot of Bodmin Moor is farmed in such a way in that the animals are allowed to free roam. This includes ponies, flocks of sheep and herds of cows. Farmers own the animals but they intermingle and wander around for a lot of their time quite freely.
Knitted Cows
Whilst not quite as the highland cattle that finds itself the centre of a modern cute obsession. These mini knitted cows are inspired by the belted Galloway cross herds that live on Bodmin Moor. Each of the knitted cows, like its real life inspiration, has its own individual markings, look and personality. They are so cute I just had to photograph and share them all!
Wooly Sheep
But the perfect candidate for a knitted cutie? A sheep of course! Check out this motley crew in all their finest, unique, moorland beauty….
Knitted Dogs
These adorable sheepdogs are the perfect thing to keep your wool under close guard!
Whilst this pack of dogs by Carol are so adorable and unique-I just want to squeeze them!! And in this miniature size there are perfect to put in your pocket and do just that-squeeeeze.
