How to Create Polymer Clay Decorations
Reusable and bespoke decoration ideas
Polymer Clay Decorations are the perfect addition to your celebratory display whether it’s for Christmas or another celebration.
Using Polymer Clay you can create unique and bespoke decorations you can use again and again!
How to create Polymer Clay Decorations
To create polymer clay decorations you will need
- polymer clay or oven baked clay
- small screw in eyes
- a cocktail stick
- ribbon (to hang it)
- an oven
- a bunch of ideas
- a baking tray (or oven-safe dish) you will never use for food again
- perfectly flat chopping board or spare tile
- helpful but not needed is a rolling pin and pasta machine (again neither can be used for food).
Step by Step
First, you will need to think of your design and plan out your colours.
Next, you will need to take small amounts of clay. Small and thin decorations bake best. The clay needs to be warmed, rolled and prepped before use. This is where the pasta machine comes in handy. Only take what you need in a short time out of the packet.
When ready you can assemble your design on your chopping board or tile. Follow all pack instructions. Make sure you blend any edges and separate pieces so they are fully attached.
Before baking be sure to pick where you want the screw eye to go and prick a small hole with a cocktail stick
Bake according to the clay pack instructions
Leave to cool and harden
Now you are ready to screw in the eye
Thread it onto the ribbon and hang it on your tree! Or gift wrap for a loved one.

These decorations don’t have to be just for Christmas. There’s something worth celebrating everyday.
Halloween and Christmas tend to be the celebrations we go all out for as they cheer up the winter months.
Other holidays could include
